Ever since the Islamic Arab Army conquered the land of Kurdistan in Syria and Iraq during the eras of the Sassanid and Roman Empires almost 1400 years ago, Kurdistan has been without peace to our time.

The Kurdish people were the first victims of Arab imperialism, ostensibly inflicted as Islamic teachings.

The Islamic Arab Army killed millions of Kurds, and took millions of Kurdish women to be sold as sex slaves in Medina, the Saudi Arabian capital of the second Islamic Khilafah Umar Ibn Khattab of the Arab Islamic Empire. No one should wonder today why the Kurdish women in Syria are fighting the Islamic members of Al-Nusra and the Al-Qaeda affiliated Islamic State of Iraq. They simply do not want to be sex slaves again.

Arabs are still using the Islamic religion to take other nations' land; since invading from Africa with the Egyptian army they have progressively assumed more Kurdish land, destroying more of its people and consuming more of its resources. Iraq and Syria are both victims of Islamic Arab aggressive expansionism in the name of religion.

The Arab Islamic Army then created religious leaders called Sheiks, who originally came from the Kurds; and the Sayyieds, who were originally Arabs. Now the Kurdish people are divided between four power groups: Sayyieds, Sheiks, tribal leaders and Kurds. In an attempt to extinguish their hopes and desire for autonomy, the first three factions' exploitative divide and rule tactics have been used against the Kurdish people as a means of further weakening, controlling and subjecting them.

They were imposed on an already fragmented society. From the collapse of the Median (ancient Kurdish) Empire around 500BCE until 1800 CE, Persians, Arabs and Turks had cunningly used tribal leaders to sell out Kurds in the same way. The Kurdish People choice to defect to religious leaders namely Sayyieds and Sheiks has lasted till our time.

Any moderately curious observer can easily find out that the majority of the Kurdistan Regional Governments' (KRG) officials now come from the Sayyied, Sheik and tribal leaders' ruling class.

Today Kamal Said (Sayyied) Qadir is fighting Sheik Massoud Barzani for leadership of the Kurds; yesterday Sheik Jalal Talabani was fighting Sheik Mullah Mustafa Barzani for the top Kurdish leadership position.

The Kurdish people may well ask why, as their records and ideologies indicate a uniform failure to provide material and social benefits, and acceptable solutions to issues around human rights and democracy for Kurdistan. The answer implies the perpetuation of their personal, political, economic, religious and social empires.

Thus the political battle for the control of Kurdistan now resembles the centuries' old war between the Persians, Turks and Arabs to rule the Kurdish people.

The glaring question is when will the Kurdish people wake up and say "no' to the occupiers and impose their own solution on them? Since both the black and the white dogs of Kurdish politics tend to ravenously consume the Kurdish people, the only option is for Kurds to arm themselves against the hungry packs of Persians, Arabs and Turks, sending a clear and forceful message that they want to freely elect Kurds to serve them, not the predatory Sheiks, Sayyieds and tribal leaders and their agents.

Listen you hunters of Kurdish humanity, this is the message we howl at your incestuous cronies from the tops of the Kandil Mountains: we are Kurds; we want to be free, electing one of us to serve us. We are more than tired of being abused by you and your agents, but we will exhaust you in the war for self-determination.

Hamma Mirwaisi was exposed to the oppression of Kurds while still a youth, as his education was frequently interrupted by Iraqi government harassment. Forbidden from entering university in 1968, he had little choice but to join the peshmerga (more...)
