“These are the times that try men’s souls.” – Thomas Paine, Dec 23, 1776

“We, the people” have endured our times of darkness, of rage and anger and frustration, of feeling helpless and hopeless. Our citizens have experienced these kinds of emotions during the American Revolution, during 9-11 and its aftermath, in the last two presidential campaigns, and in current political and economic situations.

Daily, we face a smorgasbord of news items that make us feel not only like we are backed up against a brick wall, but that the ten-foot-high wall encircles us, and is closing in. And we find ourselves grasping for straws, and attacking those that we see as adversaries, in ways that have been repeated throughout history.

Politics As Usual – NOT

But yet, in this presidential race, and in politics in general over the past few years – odd and unusual things seem to be transpiring. You may have noticed—this is NOT politics as usual.

We are, instead, witnessing the birthing of a new paradigm of politics. We see women and persons of color moving into places of more power, and politicians beginning to cross party lines to stand up for their beliefs. In four years we have seen the huge difference the internet can make in presidential campaigns, leveling the playing field in many instances. We are invited to dance with politics on the leading edge.

The Old or the New

And our choice is whether we want to hang on to the old ways of doing things: the Grand Old Politics, the logic of “an eye for an eye,” and of the present administration’s antiquated methods of pre-emptive attack on both the world and our own citizens—OR, whether we want to co-create an avenue for a new kind of politics—personal, empowering, Quantum Politics.

I invite you to consider joining the adventure of the latter. Not only is it more exciting, but it is much more practical.

Far from being relegated to Star Trek or Buck Rogers fantasies, quantum science is a real and respected field. The exploration of quantum physics has lately had great success in film documentaries such as What the Bleep Do We Know? and The Secret, as well as in recent books such as The Field by Lynne McTaggert and The Biology of Belief by Dr. Bruce Lipton.

So, what does all this have to do with politics?

The foundation of quantum science informs all of life, and that includes politics. It is especially connected with politics on the leading edge.

One of the tenets of quantum physics is that we create our own reality. This is true, regardless of the fact that many would respond – “I don’t believe that because I would NEVER have created THIS (fill in the blank) for myself!
