| WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange can be extradited to Sweden to face sex crime allegations, the Supreme Court has ruled. Seven Supreme Court judges gave their judgment in a move that ends a marathon battle in the UK courts. Lawyers for the WikiLeaks leader had argued that the European arrest warrant issued against him is "invalid and unenforceable", because no Swedish judge had signed the warrant. The warrant was signed only by a government prosecutor, the equivalent of a DA, whose loyalties are on one side of the case, and who cannot be impartial. The UK Supreme Court ruled 5-2 that this did not matter. |
