No wonder San Francisco is losing businesses. The City government is living in the future perfect tense, not the present one. Years ago San Francisco officials decided to socially engineer the city into a Transit First, Manhattan of the West. By their assumptions, San Francisco would now be filled with downtown high-rises, a smoothly running public transportation system, clean safe bicycle tails and a lot of residents that have failed to materialize. Rather than live within their means and allow the community to grow organically, City officials have painstakingly "planned" a beautiful city into the ground.
