I'm a phyicist. Seven years back, I was dragged into the world of 9/11 Truth, in tears and confusion, by the force of my own scientific logic. I know a lot of scientists who have had a similar experience. But most people rely on experts to parse scientific truth for them, and their path into the fold must depend on testimony of credible human faces that tell the story from the inside. Speaking to these two sensibilities, here are two very different videos.
9/11 Truth isn't for everyone. You have to be willing to give up a shared reality that is the basis of public discourse of the full American political spectrum, from right and left. You must be ready to forgo your seat at the table with a bright, attractive community of mainstream progressives -- sensitive, intelligent, and excellent company to keep.
In fact, 9/11 Truth doesn't have much going for it except, well, truth. For anyone who feels ready to swallow the Red Pill, or to explore a rabbit hole from which you may not return, here are two opportunities.
The first is an interview with a
Danish professor who was, until a few years ago, quite unpolitical.
He tells the story of being carried by the undeniable logic of his
own scientific discipline into a view of the world that he never
asked for. His odyssey started back in 2006 with a video showing
World Trade Center Building 7 collapsing in free-fall acceleration.
Science told him that this could not be the result of a natural fire,
that natural fires spread randomly, and collapse proceeds slowly and
piecemeal (if at all), with different parts of the building weakening
at different times. Indeed, it requires sophisticated engineering
and thousands of small, precisely-timed explosions to induce a tall
building to fall straight down, rather than toppling to one side.
From there, Niels Harritt was drawn into an investigation, and an
increasingly public role explaining for lay audiences the basis of
his certainty that 9/11 was an inside job. In 2009, he co-authored a
scientific paper in which a sample of dust from the World Trade
Center explosions was analyzed, and found to contain a military-grade
explosive called nano-thermite. On the one hand, this fits perfectly
with his observation that the demolition of the Twin Towers (and the
third, Building 7) must have been engineered and prepared weeks in
advance; on the other hand, there are no innocent explanations for
how this ultra high-tech explosive could have found its way into a
Manhattan skyscraper. Watch Jack Etken interview Niels Harritt for Face to Face, Canadian Community TV.
The second video is by Susan Lindauer, summarizing a book she wrote in 2010 about her experience before and after 9/11. Before 9/11, she was a Congressional staffer, moonlighting as a CIA asset, who carried messages back and forth between our own State Department and the Iraqi government. She describes a storm of State Department attention in the summer of 2001 anticipating a massive terrorist attack on the World Trade Center. The CIA seemed to know all about it, and rather than try to prevent the attack, they were laying the groundwork to use the event as public justification for an invasion of Iraq. She describes the State Department's frustration with the incompetence of the hijackers, and the need to clear the way for them at every step to make sure that the plot succeed. She tells what she knows of the access granted to the Twin Towers for two weeks in August/September to deliver and plant demolition explosives. After 9/11, Lindauer's boss at the CIA told her that there was no need for the public to know the truth about 9/11, and that the official investigation would be contained and managed. Lindauer worked through every channel she knew to try to prevent a war from being launched on false pretext. It happened that George Bush's Chief of Staff, Andrew Card, was her cousin, and she wrote a personal appeal to him, seeking to avert the March, 2003 invasion of Iraq. One morning soon afterward, she awoke to a brisk knock on her door, and found herself under arrest -- detained without a hearing and without charge under terms of the Patriot Act. Lindauer spent a year in prison and five more years under house arrest until she was cleared in 2009. How many people, surviving such an ordeal, would have the courage to go public with a book and lecture tour? Here is Susan Lindauer speaking to a group of activists in Portland, OR.
