Frank VanderSloot, billionaire businessman in Idaho Falls supports Presidential Candidate Mitt Romney in his quest to destroy national parks as reported in this morning's Washington Post.

Romney's energy plan, as reported in this morning's Washington Post would open up "virtually every part of U.S. lands and waters" to drilling and fracking regardless of their location -- including national parks and national monuments.

When asked whether any place would be off limits for oil drilling, campaign spokesman Andrea Saul said, "Governor Romney will permit drilling wherever it can be done safely, taking into account local concerns."

Current law sets some public lands and waters off limits to drilling, including national parks, national monuments, and wilderness areas.  These places are protected for other uses like hunting, fishing, sightseeing, and recreation.

VanderSloot is one of thirteen co-chairs of Romney's finance committee and has contributed $1 million dollars to Romney's presidential campaign.

" Idaho like the rest of America is being offered up to the highest bidder. That our lands, and our most incredible resources and cherished places are not exempt is proof positive that corporate overreach has no limits, no regard for the human and environmental costs, no regard for a future beyond profit. We really have to question what it going to take to stop this course, because the further down this road we go the less likely we are to be able to put our country back together again," says Adrienne Evans, Executive Director of  United Action for Idaho.
