Sleepless in South Florida-Again!
I can't find my way back to the land of soft flotation in the clouds, also known
as the land of sleep--here lately.
What is the next best thing to do
when sleeplessness hits; when everyone else is already fast asleep, when nothing on
television is worthwhile watching and it is not safe to go for a walk around the
block by yourself before dawn or after dark.
A glass of milk and a couple of
cookies could probably solve the problem, but if you are watching your
weight--that may not really cut it.
Read a book? That might work, but depending
on the book you might find yourself more awake and aware than floating on a bed
of clouds.
The next best thing to do might be to
sit down in front of the computer and type your heart away.
THOUGHTS
I NEED TO PROCESS TONIGHT Oct. 5th
Friday morning, October 4th , my day began like every other day. Get up, have breakfast, open the Bible, say a
prayer.
This morning's Bible verse, read:
EZEKIEL 45 9-10
"PUT AWAY VIOLENCE AND OPPRESSION, AND DO
WHAT IS RIGHT AND JUST! STOP EVICTING MY PEOPLE! SAYS THE LORD GOD. YOU shall HAVE
HAVE HONEST SCALES, AN HONEST EPHAH, AND AN HONEST LIQUID MEASURE."
Little did I know or imagine how much
in synchronicity that reading and my life would be in on Friday, October 4th.
Even the priest in his homily today
acknowledged that moral relativism is taking politicians and the rest of us nowhere
and that the power struggle the politicians are embroiled in is not good for
anyone. Some people walked out of the church. I am not sure what part of what
the priest was saying they didn't like.
Obama and John Boehner are embroiled in a shutdown of government over how they are going to spend our money--with neither camp having the best interest of the people at heart--even when Obama Care appears to be a plus on the side of the people. Were Obama doing the right thing we would not even be talking about an affordable health care act known also as the Obama Care of so much contention presently. Obama would be talking about Universal Healthcare for all--if there needed to be a nugget of contention between Obama and Boehner, that should really have been the nugget of contention between the two men. Universal Healthcare should have really been what Obama's "fight" with Boehner is about, and what he should have signed into law.
Today, on October 9th, the
embroilment still continues.
