WE THE PEOPLE
WE THE PEOPLE of the United States
Trapped by bloody eagle talon
Have with destiny a solemn date
To slay the New World Mammon.
Who like some angry darting Octopus
Devours freedom's morsels abandoned
Turning our Constitutuion to wisps of dust
From meanest streets to the grandest canyons.
They say we need this New World Order
Glistening with greed and iniquity
To erase those pesky national borders
Fecund womb of total equality.
So break out the red bandanas
And sing a merry tune
Forgetting the famous words of Santayana
While marching on to doom.
Arise my countrymen and tell your tale!
Of a people brave and proud
Descendents of brother Nathan Hale
Who with his spirit did liberty endow.
And facing swinging noose unflinching
With one regret did give
Old Glory's proudest stitching
With but one life to live.
Drink ye John Brown's vintage of mouldering berry
Bringing down God's wrath again
From Bleeding Kansas to Harpers Ferry
Where his righteous stand did finally end.
His Angels were angry at that peculiar institution
That with cruel tip of cutting lasch
Did sully and stain our great Nation
Turning her parchment pride to ash.
I dreamnt I saw Joe Hill last night
Clutching his bloody wound
Giving workers new insight
While Singing a 'rebel girl' tune.
And Joe, how your precious ashes
Were on a merry breeze sent
Wafting beyond time's cruel lashes
Where your fading flower will surely bloom again.
And through the raging human tempest
Dr. King ignited freedom's bravest lights
From Selma to the streets of Memphis
To secure the voice civil rights.
And on the day that he died
A Nation clutched a bloody thorn
As our better Angels wept and cried
And love's blossom was once again reborn.
We are Bradley Manning
Whose courageous act of defiance
Keeps the winds of resistance fanning
The embers of national repentence.
For such a love of country
Gives hope to us all
That his patriotic bounty
Will again make liberty stand tall.
We mourn for Aaron's steadfast nobility
Who led the resistance online
Proud defender of civil liberties
Dreamer of freedom in its prime.
He bravely faught the cyber goons
Until his very last breath
Found one day in his small room
Freedom's voice hung to death.
And what of Evelyn Obey
Lost soul that liberty forgot
Of her dear children taken away
By voracious dentention center plot.
Undocumented but to God
Unseen and unheard
Blindly roaming Freedom's bog
Faceless victim of the absurd.
Now this vaunted New world Order
Sends out its death reaping Drones
Hunting rapaciously across many borders
Raking in the bones.
One innocent American sixteen years of age
Vaporized with prejudice extreme
Paying the ultimate mortal wage
Due process no more than a dream.
We did start the fire!
That burns down all the world
That hunts for blood untired
Judge, jury and executioner full of lofty words.
Yet in a cabin far from Themis' corner
Justice was forever slain
And the body of Christopher Dorner
Is coming home again.
Oh God what love have we left
To condone this heartless system
That seeks its every pound of flesh
To feed the Empire's bloody cisterns.
We must rise up as citizens universal
And oppose this relentless thresher
That hunts and hunts without reversal
And kills with gleeful pleasure.
No More! No More! No More!
For a new fire is setting the world aflame
With the peace of love's eternal lore
Devouring the descendents of ancient Cane.
Fight on! Fight on! With all your heart
With blessings from high heaven
And we shall have a brand new start
We the people in love again.
I weep over our cruel fate
How we long for freedom's kiss
I hope it is not too late
Fading in the high meadow mist.
And in the beauty of the setting sun
the promise of a new dawn rising
to with her beautiful colors stun
The smile of a new horizon.
Lascia ch'io pianga
Mia cruda sorte,
E che sospiri la liberta!
