Plea for calls to the White House on behalf of Don Siegelman

Message Marilyn Noyes
I called Thom Hartmann's program this morning and told him of our utter frustration in trying to get attention for Don Siegelman in Washington about our continued attempts to get Eric Holder's attention. You need to know that I have piles of tears running down my face. This is so heart-breaking.

I know how much Don's freedom matters to so many of you, and it matters to me too. I don't know why, but Don Siegelman represents all the injustice I've experienced or witnessed in my life. And this needs to be made right for HIM and for me and for all of us.

Thom said that what we need to do is to bombard the White House with phone calls for Governor Siegelman. He said that since the DOJ is just a part of the Obama Administration, we have to go to the top. So let's flood them with calls.

When I phoned earlier today I got a decent reception from the man I talked to. He assured me he would get my message about Governor Siegelman to President Obama. Don Siegelman took a political hit and went to prison on trumped-up charges for something that isn't even a crime. The right-wing U.S. attorneys who went after Don Siegelman are still in place in Alabama where they are in a position to continue to deny this good man justice.

Our current President can and must do something to right these wrongs. Insist on exoneration for Governor Siegelman and immediate replacement of the remaining Bush DOJ appointees.

That's change we can believe in!
