For too long we have placed our faith in experts instead of experiencing life with our guts. Tell this to the fish in the midwest that are frying due to abnormal heat. Meanwhile listen to your senses as you gaze into the barren landscape that mirrors the barrenness of your rational mind. Rational...roll the term over your tongue, look at it....ration-al....rationed.....limited....not understanding the relationship of the parts to the whole and the notion that the whole is in every part.
Dare we give up that we are the rulers of this planet and can do to Gaia what the hell we want?
We are creating a barren planet as a reflection of our conditioned minds that are similarly barren. We argue this and that theory, theology and philosophy while we fry ourselves and the planet. Republican or Democrat? Left or Right? Male or Female? When do we awaken to ourselves and the Other as our mirror. The planet will only heal as we heal. Why are we in this mess? It is because we live in the same relationship with Nature as a fetus lives with his mother. The Hindus knew in one of the Upanishads where it is written:
It is below
It is, in fact this entire world
When one knows this one knows bliss in the self
and in all worlds is free."
But, when we look out at the world we see resources, and we manipulate those resources for within ourselves we are dead. We don't see a living, breathing and intelligent Being, for we are so chopped up, rationed, that we have killed ourselves. This is what happens we are chopped up or rationed.
Nature in Her wholeness is Wisdom, in my humble opinion. Nature and Sophia (Wisdom) are one. Nature, in turn is the Self. Nature literally means Essence. Gaze into the skies and see the Self. Gaze into the trees and see the Self. Look at the stars and see the atomic particles in your brain. "It is above, it is below." Dare you give up your alienated, rationed/rational view of life and truly know your whole humanity on a whole living planet.
