(Author's Note: My work over the years has been to flesh out findings of science, most notably physics (brought down to lay person's (i.e., my) understanding), with wisdom writings from the religions of the world, creation myths, as well as the multitude of virgin birth stories, over the course of human history. This work led to the writing of Sophia's Web: Understanding the Unity and Diversity of Science, Religion and Ourselves, which is still listed on Amazon (the reviews for the book were surprisingly phenomenal, Amazon lists 3). I do have a newly edited version, but have not found a publisher, and am financially unable to self-publish. The new version is called Sophia's Web: Reclaiming Wholeness in a Divided World. The importance of this work is in its weaving of what appears disparate parts into wholes. Hopefully, through this article, written in response to our ENVISION THIS interview with Amara Tia Ann Tay, founder of The Aleph Center for Accelerated Transformation, the reader can begin to see the pattern. Knowing the meaning of Aleph is part of this pattern. Thus, let us begin!)

Aleph--the first letter in the Hebrew alphabet and symbol of the number 1--is highly significant and meaningful. Indeed, the concepts expressed by Aleph are more essential to our understanding of life than our modern mechanistic and reductionist Western thinking has allowed us to realize. Ã-- is well worth our consideration in this forum because it is instrumental to deep change. Deep change entails a need to move beyond our conditioning and into the unconditioned where infinite potentials abound.

According to the website for the ACAST, Aleph Center of Accelerated Spiritual Transformation, the letter/symbol means the origin, beginning, potentiality and unity of all creation. It further signifies the divine within humanity. In essence, this letter speaks to Genesis 1:2&3, which reads:

And the Earth (i.e., matter) was without form and void and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit (Ruach, female) moved out over the face of the Waters (Tehom, female).

And God said (the Word), Let there be Light and there was Light. And the Light was divided from the Dark.

Thus, the dark (the upper notch of the letter, the Unmanifest or Uncreated) generates Light (the lower notch, the Manifest), which are then divided. In many ways, you repeat this creative process daily when you awaken (light, manifest) from deep sleep (dark, unmanifest).

If you take the virgin birth story of Jesus Christ and look at the wording regarding the Word made flesh, you will find a haunting similarity to the process outlined above. Thus, the Spirit (female Ruach in Hebrew) moved over Mary (Marie means Ocean) to conceive Christ (the Word made flesh, as per John 1:14). The significance in sound, (the Word made flesh) and the series of "and God said" statements of Genesis is illustrated in the following short film, where matter is formed by vibration or sound frequencies. Can you entertain the notion that the Virgin Birth and Genesis are metaphors pointing towards what this film points toward?

Could this be how we are all formed?

There are at least four interpretations one can have about the virgin birth in relation to Genesis: (1) Its a matter of accident that Marie's name means Ocean (think Marina, Marine) and does not relate to the Waters of Genesis; (2) Both stories are a lot of bunk; (3) the virgin birth of a God from a human woman is a literal fact; and (4) the two stories are one; the virgin birth is a process inherent in all creation. My argument is for the latter, #4. As the Christian mystic, Meister Eckhart, said of the Virgin Birth:

"But if that birth pertains not to me, then what avails it?"

In my meditative understanding, when you begin to unite the scientific work of David Bohm and others regarding the Unmanifest, with the virgin birth stories occurring throughout the world, what you come to believe is that what is called the Virgin Birth is occurring right now, for we are unfolding this moment from the unmanifest into manifestation. This means each moment is a point of infinite potential for in our depths we are unconditioned and thus ripe to create anew. Many of today's visionaries feel that Earth, herself, including humanity, is currently undergoing such a transformation, such an unfolding of our potential on a planetary scale. I'm still not convinced that we're going to hell in a hand-basket. Hope I'm wrong.

Ultimately, the Virgin Birth is about moving beyond our conditioned mind. This conditioned mind lies in the shallows where our thoughts take hold and creates waves or turbulence. However, far below the currents of mind we reach into the unconditioned, which is pure silence. This is the objective of meditation. It is about becoming empty, as many Eastern religions teach. This is the point in meditation when we are "without a thought." We rest like a fetus in the amniotic fluid at the womb of the world. In this state, we are at least mimicking, if not experiencing, the Unmanifest. This is the point of radical change, which is why in the Middle Eastern virgin birth stories both Mother and Child (including Christ) were at-risk for murder by the mainstream. If truth be known, our current public education system is simply a weapon of Caesar to keep this birth from happening within us.

The ultimate purpose of public education is to condition us, meaning to fill us with what the corporate state wants us to learn. This does not mean I negate the positives to public education. Without it, I could not write this article. Yet, I had to move beyond years of conditioning to get to the point where I can say what I want to say, even in the face of those devoted to their conditioned minds. Its really a long, hard, slow process and I still struggle and become angry with myself regarding not obtaining the clarity. I'm not even close for my mind is still very noisy. Yet, my hope for the reader is that he or she is able to transcend their conditioning. Indeed, you may consider developing yourself to where you can do what the man in the film below does (the film is around a half an hour, all you'll need is a couple of minutes watching this half naked man meditating in the snow):
