Response to O'Reilly's rant on atheism

Message eric stone
O'Reilly: Okay, how'd the moon get there? Look, you pinheads who
attacked me for this, you guys are just desperate. How'd the moon get
there?

>>It evolved from what was there before.<<

O'Reilly:How'd the sun get there? How'd it get there? Can you explain that to me?

>>It condensed from our gaseous nebula<<

O'Reilly:How
come we have that and Mars doesn't have it? Venus doesn't have it. How
come? Why not? How'd it get here? How did that little amoeba get here,
crawl out there? How'd it do it?

>>Because the earth had
the proper conditions and there may be millions of planets in the
universe that have these conditions. And let's face it, bill, even if
there was life on Mars or Venus you religionists would come up with some
other ridiculous argument of why that favored the existence of
god<<

O'Reilly:Come on. You have order in this universe.
You have an order in the universe. Tide comes in, tide goes out. Okay.
Yeah, the moon does it. Fine. How'd the moon get there? Who put it
there? Did it just happen?

>>No one put it there, Bill. It evolved from what was there before. Your question is meaningless.<<

O'Reilly:
Okay, if we have existence -- if we have life on earth, how come they
don't have it on the other planets? Are we just lucky? Some meteor did
this? Bunk!

>>Are we lucky that the universe is mostly
space and near absolute zero in temperature? Are we lucky that 99% of
all the species that have existed on earth died out? And are we
especially lucky that the religions based on your concept of a god are
responsible for overpopulating our planet and destroying it?? Some
luck!!<<

You know, I see this stuff -- it's desperate. I
think I've said it many times. It takes more faith to not believe and to
think that this was all luck -- and all this human body and all the
intricacies of it, all luck -- than it does to believe in a deity."

>>Your
make-believe deity, who you refuse to define, doesn't explain
anything. Who put your deity there? How did your deity come to be
infinitely old yet come to the present day? If it's simply a mind
without a body how does it do anything? If it's outside of time and
space how does it affect us? Just because you define it doesn't mean
that it exists: definitions don't prove anything. Religionists like you
are selling slavery to superstition, mythology, and delusions and a
make-believe king. We threw out a king in 1776 and don't need another,
especially a make-believe one who burns you in hell for all eternity
simply because you don't believe in it.<<
