HEAD'S UP FOR Tomorrow, Tuesday, MAY 6TH:

Post-Katrina is NOT Over! Here's an opportunity to help!

Let's Celebrate GiveNOLA Day together!

This is my first diary submission at OpEdNews. I never felt the need to learn how to use this function but I learned now for a very good reason.

Debra South Jones has always been there for others, when they need help. Through her New Orleans nonprofit agency, Just the Right Attitude[established in 1999] years before Hurricane Katrina. In 2013 alone, JTRA distributed more than 800,000 pounds of food, cooked and served 97,223 hot meals to 39,000 hungry individuals. Although Katrina devastated the area in 2005, the need has not gone away.

Now Debra and Just The Right Attitude need your help so she can continue to serve others. Here's what you can do: On GiveNOLA Day, Tuesday, May 6th ONLY, your dollars will be matched dollar for dollar by the Greater New Orleans Foundation GNOF.ORG

from the GNOF website:

"Hosted on May 6th by the Greater New Orleans Foundation, GiveNOLA Day is the community's first one-day, online giving event to inspire people to give generously to nonprofit organizations that are making our region [New Orleans area] stronger, creating a thriving community for all."

What a great idea!

You can read more about Debra's charitable activities in this article I wrote for OpEdNews in 2008: Katrina on my Mind: Debra South Jones with Just the Right Attitude:

I was later part of two missions to New Orleans [2009 and 2010] and our group volunteered each time at Just the Right Attitude. I've written numerous pieces about Katrina: the volunteers, the people on the ground, the situation. It's was a vibrant, unique community battered by nature to an unprecedented degree. Debra and others like her are working overtime to restore New Orleans and the region to its former state. We're not down there, but we're not powerless either. We can help. And here's how: Donate tomorrow, May 6th. Any amount will be greatly appreciated.

How to donate on May 6th [to DOUBLE the impact of your contribution]:

11. Go to GNOF.ORG

22. Specify "Just the Right Attitude"

33. Choose your amount and follow the instructions

44. Your donation will be doubled by the Greater New Orleans Foundation

55. That's it! Good job!

If you'd like to report back, I'll be glad to hear from you. You can reach me at J oan at OpEdNews.com

THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR HELP. DON'T FORGET - TUESDAY, MAY 6TH. WE DEFINITELY CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE. WHY NOT DOUBLE YOUR IMPACT?

PLEASE SHARE. And thank you.
