Originally I come from the Swedish part of Finland but I have lived in Sweden since I was nine years old. I spoke perfect Finnish when I came to Sweden. Today, I understand it better than I speak it. Swedish is, after all, my mother tongue. If I spend some time where they only speak Finnish, it would probably come back quite quickly, I suspect.

I live in Uppsala in my lovely studio where I thrive very well. I see myself as a cheerful, open, easy-going person. I’m probably pretty reserved until I get to know people in real life. Can be difficult to get to know the “real” Mella. But once we are familiar with each other, I would like to hang out often.

What do I do during the day then? Spend time with my loved ones, listening to music, read books, see a movie. I have a black belt in Fika! (Fika = Swedish for having coffee and bun).

On weekends … I like to go out occasionally and take a glass of wine or a beer and dance a bit. Very nice to meet new people! I’m just as happy on the sofa with a good movie, good company and a cup of coffee.

What makes one person worth more than another? Been thinking a lot about the phenomenon of grading people. We are all people no matter how small or big we are and no matter where we come from. Abortion, when is life -- life, and human dignity are all red-hot topics we must address. There will always be those who hope that I will keep quiet but I will always stand for the equality of all people and for the unborn.
