The Nation of Refugees Although it isn't hard to gather five or six stories from the news services, week after week there's less and less news about the floods in Pakistan and the earthquake in Haiti, and almost all of it is beginning to sound more or less the same. Aid is inadequate, both governments are ineffective, and millions of their former citizens are gradually disappearing into the twilight zone of an international nation of refugees.

The Blimpie at Ground Zero Unlike most of my left-wing friends, I can totally sympathize with right-wing protests about the "Mosque at Ground Zero," because I felt exactly the same way when they built a Blimpie at 30 John Street, only two blocks away from the World Trade Center!

The Tea-Sucker Manifesto The Wall Street Journal is currently displaying "A Tea Party Manifesto" at the top of its website, and this thing includes a declaration of war on the Republican Party. The tea party movement is not seeking a junior partnership with the Republican Party, but a hostile takeover of it.
