This essay presents the question of journalists and bloggers in a different light. Rather than decide who gets the label, and thus the implied public trust and protections that go along for the ride, why not apply said trust and protection based on behavior instead?

I'm so glad I decided to go ahead and watch the GOP debates on FOX last night. I almost skipped this, for what should be obvious reasons, but something was nagging at me...
That something was the strong showing by Ron Paul in the previous debates and how it was largely ignored by the traditional media.

Going forward, the Democrats have a great chance to use their majority to frame the discussion in terms of legislation that will directly benefit the American people. I can't think of a better way to accomplish this than single subject legislation.
