Lastly, to Governor Rod Blagojevich, go back to Illinois and face the music as any real man or elected leader would do. If you feel the system is corrupt do so from within and not from outside. Americans have their own set of problems to deal with and they do not include yours.
(11 comments) SHARE Friday, January 23, 2009 John McCain is a true patriot unlike Rush Limbaugh
During this past presidential campaign, I was a critic of Senator John McCain, but have come to realize that it is he who is a true patriot as he has chosen to back President Barack Obama in words and in deeds. Something that Rush Limbaugh will never understand.
(5 comments) SHARE Wednesday, January 21, 2009 'Fix News', Chris Wallace questions if President Obama is our president
To 'Fix News' my advice to you is this, deal with it, get over it, this is your new reality, time to move on and any other statement you have issued to we the people during these eight long years. We have a new president and his name is President Barack Hussein Obama. Oh how sweet the revenge here especially when served cold.
(13 comments) SHARE Wednesday, January 21, 2009 President Barack Obama indicted Bush swiftly in his inaugural address
Even our new president, Barack Obama indicted Bush swiftly in his inaugural address, so that history will have that on record. While I do opine that Bush did not care one bit of what our new president was saying, he had to just sit there and take it on the chin in front of the 1.8 million gathered and the billions who viewed it from close and afar.
(4 comments) SHARE Monday, January 19, 2009 Barack Obama and Joe Biden: As we the people await the orderly transfer of power
In reciting that oath, it is not only a constitutional transfer of power from one president to another, but a mystical one as well. You cannot actually see the power of the presidency transferring from President George W. Bush to President-elect Barack Obama, but the power transfers right before our eyes.
(2 comments) SHARE Thursday, January 15, 2009 Goodbye and good riddance to President George W. Bush and the true Bush legacy
To President George W. Bush, while you have done immense damage to this nation, there is one thing you have not damaged and that is the spirit of a people. Our spirits are still intact as we await the swearing in ceremony of our new president who will then be, President Barack Obama and his second in command, Vice President Joe Biden.
(6 comments) SHARE Wednesday, January 14, 2009 Rod Blagojevich helped save the jobs at Republic Windows and Doors
Governor Rod Blagojevich deserves a medal in his plight to help save these jobs and now these workers will most likely get if this deal goes through will obtain new jobs, will get to keep a roof over their heads, a salary to feed their families, and medical benefits. Consider that where millions of Americans are losing their jobs coast-to-coast.
(8 comments) SHARE Wednesday, January 14, 2009 Rod Blagojevich faces impeachment...Bush on the other hand signed off on torture
I just do not know how the legislature in the state of Illinois can look themselves in the mirror wishing to impeach a governor who never signed off on torture as President Bush did. Blagojevich has done far less than the man who currently leads this country until next Tuesday when Pres.-elect Barack Obama will become president.
(5 comments) SHARE Tuesday, January 13, 2009 Andrew Cuomo: Should be the next junior senator from New York State
While I originally backed the Nassau County Executive, Thomas Suozzi, the man I can see filling that seat also has name recognition and it is none-other than the New York State Attorney General, Andrew Cuomo. His father, Mario Cuomo served proudly as our state's governor.
(1 comments) SHARE Monday, January 12, 2009 Joe the Plumber must be following Ari Fleisher's motto of "Watch what you say"
My reaction is unbelievable that someone who now calls himself a reporter, a journalist or whatever would in his role as such trample on the first amendment to the United States Constitution. What is he following? Ari Fleisher's (Bush's first press secretary) golden rule of "Watch what you say"?
(26 comments) SHARE Monday, January 12, 2009 Gaza: Do some see Palestinians as non-humans?
What I cannot for the life of me understand is how a people namely the Israeli government could treat human beings as their ancestors were in the ghettos of Poland during World War Two. That comparison is something very rarely discussed. In this country we tend to see Muslims as being only the aggressors in this post 9/11 world.
SHARE Wednesday, January 7, 2009 To Joe the Plumber: What is the Balfour Declaration of 1917?
I just could not let this one go: If you, Joe the Plumber are reading this, what is the Balfour Declaration of 1917? I know and many others do, but do you? If not, you have your homework cut out for you since you are going to be covering that part of the world.
(4 comments) SHARE Tuesday, January 6, 2009 Israel, stand down...Images of dead children are what nightmares are made of
I know that I am over-simplifying how to end this violence, but perhaps the simplest of answers is always the best. Because I for one am sick and tired of seeing dead and injured children in war zones. Their very images are the things that nightmares are made of.
(3 comments) SHARE Tuesday, January 6, 2009 Harry Reid shows no leadership as he stands with Lieberman and against Burris
Harry Reid will stand up for senators like Lieberman and call a disgraced and convicted felon Ted Stevens, "distinguished", yet you are failing to stand up for a man whose only desire is to serve the citizens of Illinois and his name is Roland Burris.
(1 comments) SHARE Monday, January 5, 2009 If Roland Burris were appointed by Bill Richardson...Would he be accepted?
Will a clarion-call come from a mob demanding that Richardson resign as is being done to Blagojevich or will they treat him differently? Only time will tell. I will be the first to blast Blagojevich if it is proven he broke the law and the same standards should be applied to Richardson.
(10 comments) SHARE Sunday, January 4, 2009 We need to save newspapers...So, go out and buy one today!
I would say that purchasing and reading newspapers is more democratic since the price is more reasonable than buying a computer and then the ISP service. Oh and then one has to purchase the software to upload onto their computer and that too costs money.
(15 comments) SHARE Wednesday, December 31, 2008 Roland W. Burris should be appointed to the Illinois senate seat
I will go on record citing that those who refuse to seat Governor Blagojevich's pick should re-think their decision and approve of Roland W. Burris to fill that senate seat. We as a country can separate the appointer from the appointee. We must change direction in this country for the people who voted for it and let the judicial process deal with Governor Blagojevich. It is after all the American way.
(22 comments) SHARE Tuesday, December 30, 2008 NBC in inviting Ann Coulter on their network is a lump of coal in our stockings
I am left to ask NBC, "Exactly what are you thinking by inviting her to present what misguided ideas she has?" Invite people that are of high-minded thinking who can add something to our nation's dialogue to help solve the immense problems we are all facing. Voices like Coulter only seek to destroy this nation.
