I am 39, married and a mother of 2. Injustice and hypocrisy I have abhorred my whole life. I never outgrew it. I am still an idealist. And I have found that my idealism is actually full of common sense. I cannot look away while my Country continues down the path of destruction; while the very qualities that separate us from the animal kingdom, our compassion and our humanity is systematically used to enslave us. I am compelled to be a Paul Revere and compelled to inspire others to become a Paul Revere, a Patrick Henry, a Samuel Adams as well. When "eternal vigilance as the price of liberty" became 'activism' and 'activism' became a dirty word, we all lost. It easily becomes a way of life, a good habit, being informed, engaged and involved. It is simple to call a Senator, write a letter, attend a meeting. The feeling of righteousness is rewarding; to know you not only stand for something, but that you have taken action to effect change.
It is high time we all became involved. And you know, the more the merrier.
