It's Not Too Late! Push Hillary for Recount in 6 Key States Did human error, computer glitches, hacking, or other problems change the outcome? While there is, as yet, no compelling evidence, the news about hacking and deliberate interference makes it worth finding out. Please contact Sen. Gillibrand and Congresswoman Lowey (info included) to ask HRC to press for a recount. This is not (only) about her; it's about all of us and what faces our nation if she does not!

New Yorkers, help pass Resolution 2236, to KEEP OUR LEVER MACHINES! Our state budget is worse than predicted in July, and we will continue to lose jobs and essential services. We can't afford expensive new voting equipment that we don't need, and can't afford to use securely!

What Can We Do Now To Protect the November Election "Politics is the way a free people govern themselves." --Bernard Crick. Our elections can be honest if all citizens participate in conducting and observing them. Our governmental policies can provide for the good of all citizens if all citizens participate in our civic and political life--and provide the kind of knowledgeable oversight that can keep democratic government honest. Americans need to tithe our free time for this.

HAVA and HR 811 - Voting Machines' Impact on Minority Communities HR811, the Voter Confidence and Increased Accessibility Act of 2007, was a shock to grassroots election integrity activists, especially those of us who lobbied for previous versions of the bill. Several lists of problems and amendments have been submitted to Congress.

Victory in NY City Council Resolution 131 for paper ballots and optical scanners passed the New York City Council by unanimous vote today, March 14, 2007. The resolution was brilliantly written by the council to make clear to all that elections must be observed by the people, and should not require "trust" in computer experts to say whether the votes were properly handled.(Ed.note: a step in the right direction, showing 'people power' at its best.)
