At it's core, Libertarianism is ostensibly concerned with personal liberty and freedom. However, its modern incarnation appears far more concerned with scoring cheap political points while championing corporate interests over the rights of individuals. Dr. Rand Paul's media debacles last week have served to further expose the movement's hypocrisy.

At minimum, his story serves to illuminate our own failure to create an equitable society in which violent ideologies hold no influence.
