Grassroots Activist Alert: Save America's Tracer Ammunition, Toothpaste and Roundup Herbicide! Monsanto needs phosphate to make Roundup, and so wants a new phosphates mine in Idaho. As the biotech supporters launch efforts to muster grassroots participation they invite more than Monsanto supporters to weigh in.

One Nation Under God, with caveats.. The politicians and pundits, who wrap themselves in Star Spangled propaganda, love to boast of their love of country and reverence for the sanctity of life. They proudly boast that America is One Nation Under God. Okay, I'll bite, let's take that as our hypothesis. What God do American values reflect? We need some measure of God's rules to gauge by, so let's go with Moses and the Ten Commandments.

Embarrassing? BusinessWeek Gets Business Basics WRONG on Most Influential Companies List Regardless of what measurement they chose use for ranking, from global sales to societal impact, there is one thing that should not be a variable and that is the classification of the business. Contrary to all the SIC codes and classifications made by investor research and Federal ranking agencies the BW editors have stepped into the Orwellian realm of PR and ranked Monsanto as a food company in this year's most influential

Obama Kills Hope for Change Naming Vilsack to USDA For a brief and shining moment there was hope for change we can believe in, but the appointment of Monsanto's biotech champion from Iowa effectively kills the idea that consumer rights will be any different under Obama. For over a decade the world has rejected the patent protected, fee based seeds that tolerate toxic doses of patented herbicides, but denied the right to know what is in our food supply,

Obama's USDA Short List Solidly Supports Agribusiness On the campaign trail Obama pitched the idea of change we can believe in, but in the area of agriculture policy it's starting to look like change that agribusiness can count on as more of the same. Since the WaPo omitted some of the candidates most important areas of influence and ties to agribusiness it might be useful to take a look at where these administrators for "change" have their loyalty.

We'll Bail Out GM Because We're a Nation of Idiots Last night there was a General Motors Executive on Hardball, explaining their debt and why a few billion dollars, from American taxpayers should save them. I don't know about you, but I've heard more than enough mumbo-jumbo, dog ate my homework, pleas from grossly overpaid executives who have run their businesses into the ground. Most of us would gladly be paid mega-millions in salary to lose billions of dollars

What Can We Learn From China's Tainted Milk? This week another tragedy occurred, involving tainted products made in China. Powdered milk from Shijiazhuang San Lu Group, China's largest corporate dairy, was found to be contaminated with toxic levels of melamine. For those who may not remember, melamine was one of the toxins found in the deadly pet foods, imported into the United States by San Francisco based Wilbur-Ellis in June of last year.

Will NYTimes Science Stoop To Propaganda? How do you open a dialogue when you have spent a more than a decade pretending a subject doesn't exist? The New York Times' answer was to trot out a PR spin masters and stoop to the use of pure propaganda.

The Greatness in Hillary What a phenomenal speech. It was perfectly timed and inspirational, supportive without self pitty and motivational with momentum. The analogies and points of light were flawless. We saw the woman of strength, grace and emotion who inspired a generation. There were the faces of her husband and daughter, rightly filled with pride and admiration.

Critiquing Monsanto's Response to Vanity Fair In the May 2008 issue, Vanity Fair published, Monsanto's Harvest of Fear, by Donald L. Barlett and James B. Steele. If you haven't read the article, you should; it is a wonderful recap of what's been happening in the legislation, politics, science and spin zones of America's food supply. In response to the Vanity Fair article, Monsanto's Communications Director, Darren Wallis, put together a page by page reply to issues ra

The Bonsey Business of One Nation Under Corporate Rule For one hundred and fifty one years Skull & Bones was one of the world's most powerful, secret societies. In 1983 Antony Sutton broke the silence and exposed the members, by publishing America's Secret Establishment, An Introduction to the Order of Skull & Bones. The landmark book is every bit, the meticulously researched, academic work that one would expect from an author of Sutton's calibre. It lists the members

Banned In America - French Documentary Film Pulled from YouTube and Google The two hour long documentary that aired on French television was never going to be aired in America. While Rush Limbaugh has enough freedom to call for riots in Denver, critics of American petrochemical companies can't hear a word about the privitization of the food supply on our public air waves.

We won, we won, we won the debate!!! What a sham!! What a flim flam, snake oil scam we were treated to last night. Part of me wants to clap and cheer for the fact that the home cooked propaganda machine has the stones to go this far. What a performance!! Bravo boys, you kept up the face, focusing with the intensity of real journalists. Imagine how much self control must it take for the former White House Press Secretary, to probe deeply into the fabric

How warped is Clinton's reality? Last week Keith Olberman played a clip of Hillary in California. If it had been a few days earlier, say April Fool's Day, I would have bet Hillary was looking for a sure laugh. She wasn't. At her Burbank press conference Clinton said, "Senator Obama has been very timid and very unenthusiastic with doing anything with the economy," "I feel like Paulette Revere -- the recession is coming, the recession is coming!"

Bulls, Bears and Paper Tigers Let's talk economy and Clinton's role in this huge moneymaker: who are the winners and losers here? If she's got experience delivering bottom line results and making a bright spot in the economic downturn, let's get a spotlight on there, eh?

Patriotism, Faith and Equality There's often a fine line between our feelings of security and our faith. As we watch the stock market take its long overdue slide downward, many of the pundits add a caveat to the their reporting, that refers to something known as consumer confidence. It is true that our faith in the future and the bits of paper we exchange, drives the huge engine that is the US economy.

Defending Death and Destruction On September 11, 2001 we were told that everything changed. It was suddenly a different world and now Americans needed to think differently. We were at war with a vicious new enemy and the Most Wanted Man in the World was the leader of this evil threat, Osama Bin Laden. Never mind the fact that the world's mightiest military power was caught with it's pants down, not a single fighter plane scrambled as the Twin Towers

Hatchet Job by the New York Times Very little irritates me more than a bully and that is exactly what the New York Times has stooped to. Many of us understand that we live in a time where dirty politics and smear campaigns have been raised to an art form. Rupert Murdoch's empire is built on baseless sensationalism and loud mouthed info-tainment where truth is the only issue that has any liberal treatment.

Will Hillary turn on hormones in Iowa? This is a first for American Presidential politics. Several of the candidates will be attending an Iowa Organic Independence Day Celebration that aims to put the issues of food safety and consumer rights on the table. The Obama, Edwards, Clinton and Richardson campaigns will all participate in tonight's Des Moines event, sponsored by The Campaign to Label Genetically Engineered Foods.
