Harman Uses Bush/Cheney Fear Tactics On Winograd & Voters One would have hoped Bush and Cheney's terror-filled tack would have ended with their regime - but it didn't. It continued on with Jane Harman. Witness for yourselves her fear-based ad, replete with Osama bin Laden, directed at Marcy Winograd, Harman's progressive opponent, and the voters of the 36th Congressional District:

Will Marcy Winograd Pull a Sestak and Beat Jane Harman in the June 8th California Primary? Hopefully those old behaviors have changed, and in these midterm elections, and the national elections to follow, we'll prove that we-the-average-American-people are willing to vote our best interests and elect the candidates who warrant our support.

"What Are You Reading?" Asked The L.A. Times Festival of Books The Los Angeles Times Festival of Books is a cornucopia of literary and intellectual treats. It is two full days of panel discussions, live stage events and seemingly endless booths of books, reading paraphernalia and special interest vendors. There are booths devoted to spirituality, religion, and to no religion at all.

Winograd vs. Harman in CA Primary: Will U.S. or Israel's Interests Come First? Winograd's grassroots momentum so concerned her opponent that Harman retaliated with an ideological assault of minor relevance to most residents in her district. Rather than going toe to toe with Winograd on constituent specific matters, Harman chose Israel as her main campaign strategy. Though Harman and Winograd are both Jewish Americans, they hold radically different views on Israel.

Jon Karl & ABC Give Cheney A Sunday Valentine Had Karl used this interview to take Cheney to task re: specific accusations from experts and scholars, Karl may have achieved a new found respect as a reporter. But he didn't. Like the corporate hacks before him, Karl towed the corporate line. He was dismissive of the public trust and disparaging of the best traditions of journalism by not digging for the truth.

Will Jonathan Karl Confront Cheney's Crimes In ABC's "THIS WEEK" Interview Sunday Morning? Tomorrow morning, in his reportedly live interview with Dick Cheney, Jonathan Karl has the opportunity to use his This Week host audition to become the first journalist to publicly and directly confront Dick Cheney on his crimes. If Karl honestly and brazenly takes Cheney to task, he just might deserve the This Week host position. If he does not, he'll remain an unremarkable hack enabling an unrepentant criminal.

The Israel/Gaza Face-Off In Los Angeles I've attended many opposing sides events in Los Angeles between those who support Palestinian-occupation and those who support Palestinian-liberation. The occupation supporters are always wrapped in the American flag, championing U.S. government bias toward Israel. They have a swagger that the occupation protesters don't.
