Vote this Weekend for the American Candidate

Who said that battling the right wing can't be fun? This weekend, get ready to elect a real progressive activist and dynamic leader. We are proud to recommend that you tune in to Showtime TV's American Candidate on Sunday, September 26th and cast your vote for LISA WITTER.

Lisa is a good friend and worked here at the Campaign for America's Future as an aggressive fighter of conservative plans to privatize Social Security. Lisa is an eloquent advocate for women and an America that we all can be proud of. We are not at all surprised that she is one of three finalists on the only reality TV show where the stars battle it out for the soul of America.

With your help, Lisa Witter will be elected as the American Candidate and will travel the nation as a spokesperson for the progressive values that Washington so desperately needs.

Dear Friends,

I've made it to the final 3! This Sunday, September 26th America (and you) will determine which candidates will go on to become the final 2.

I am the only Democrat left in the race. There is still a right-wing "Christian Coalition" conservative in the race and we cannot allow him to win!

The public will only be able to vote for exactly 2 hours after the airing of the episode on each coast. The polls will be open from approximately 9:45pm EST until approximately 11:45pm EST following the East Coast airing (at 9:00 pm), and again from approximately 9:45pm PST until approximately 11:45pm PST following the West Coast airing.

The assigned voting numbers (a toll-free number) will also be available on www.lisawitter.blogspot.com as well as on www.americancandidate.com at 9:45 pm EST/6:45 pm PST. It's one vote per phone number.

Here's how you can help:

1) Gather a ton a friends with their cell phones and watch American Candidate Sunday, September 26th and vote for me. The show plays at 9 p.m. on SHOWTIME.

2) Log on to www.lisawitter.blogspot.com or www.americancandidate.com at 9:45 pm EST for the phone number to call. YOU CAN VOTE EVEN IF YOU DON'T WATCH THE SHOW! After you've voted, call 20 of your friends and have them call 20 of their friends to call and vote. Make a list of those 20 people today!

3) Email 100 (and any big list that you're on) of your friends and tell them to watch the show and/or check out www.lisawitter.blogspot.com or www.americancandidate.com at 9:45 pm EST. (To make it easy for you we've prepared a sample email below.)

4) Let me know that you want to be a member of Team Witter for American Candidate. We'll have an organizing conference call on Thursday, September 23rd at 6:00 pm EST/3:00 pm PST to discuss other mobilizing efforts.

For the first time in the series, the public will vote to narrow the field from three to two candidates on Showtime's The American Candidate, the reality TV show contestants are competing to be selected as the people's candidate," this coming Sunday, September 26th at 9pm EST.

With one progressive Democrat (Lisa Witter), one anti-Choice Republican and one progressive independent, this "election" may be a preview for the real election on November 2nd, offering viewers the chance to vote now to elect a leader most closely aligned with their values and issue positions.

Lisa has made it to the final 3 and she needs your help to make it to the final two. You can help her this week by calling a toll-free number or by sending a text message. The call-in phone numbers will be announced on air at 9:45pm EST and at www.lisawitter.blogspot.com or www.americancandidate.com. YOU DO NOT NEED TO WATCH SHOWTIME TO VOTE! It's one vote per phone number.
