My primary hobby is work (certified workaholic, with papers...shrink says at least I'm "high-functioning"!). Beyond that, books, films, political blogging and being a faithful "cheesehead". Unabashed Left-winger by any measure and student of 9/11 and other tragic events in the post-Warren "Omission" era.
Favorite writer? Ian McEwen vs. Kurt Vonnegut (too close to call)
Favorite poet? e.e. cummings - as you may figure out from a subtle reference in this bio.
Favorite film? Miller's Crossing - the first serious masterpiece by the Coen Bros, only now matched but not surpassed by NO Country For Old Men.
Favorite book? Canticle for Lebowitz by Walter Miller Jr. Post-apocalyptic novel spanning three eras after man(un)kind tries to obliterate itself and almost succeeds. Fiat Homo, Fiat Lux and Fiat Voluntas Tua (or close to that; no Latin scholar!) being the three chapters in one of the best kept secrets in the history of fiction.
