Kate is a 45 year old married mother of two girls. She is a pediatrician at a midwestern medical school and teaching hospital where she has a typical patient practice and also serves as the program director of its pediatric residency program. Her personal obsession is learning to play guitar after a lifetime of being only a music fan and audience member. She enjoys writing but thus far has satisfied this desire only by writing casually for friends as well as that associated with her work. She also enjoys painting, drawing and photography and is an animal lover. She particularly loves dogs but has also been known to harbor pet rats and chickens. If life do-overs were allowed she'd describe herself as an author and/or a guitarist...or an author who writes about guitarists...or a guitarist who sings about authors.
