I am a 48 year old married mother of two teenagers living in the very conservative West End of Richmond Virginia. I am a registered nurse, although currently work in a nonclinical setting doing medical case management. During the last few years, I've become quite passionate about politics due to deep concerns I have regarding the (mis)direction of our country. I've volunteered for politcal campaigns (Kerry, Kaine, Webb), attended protests, written letters to the editor, and now donate money to the Democratic party, all things I've never done before. I read alot and love surfing the Internet, as I feel it gives me contact with kindred progressive spirits. My biggest priority right now is my children and helping them navigate those tumultuous teenage years. It is my concern for their future that drives my political passion. The need to turn this country around cannot be overstated.
