Dave Berman

Based in Humboldt County, CA, Dave Berman is a self-described advocacy journalist, using media to achieve the goals of public service projects. An example of Berman's advocacy journalism success is the Voter Confidence Resolution, a revolutionary statement adopted by City Councils in Arcata and Palo Alto, CA. Berman began using this approach in 2002 and has written more than 500 essays at his blogs, GuvWurld and We Do Not Consent. Both websites spawned books culling the most vital material (We Do Not Consent, Volumes 1 & 2), each also serving as a promotional vehicle for the launch of a subsequent site. His new video blog is Manifest Positivity (www.ManifestPositivity.org).

Both as a founding member of the Voter Confidence Committee and outspoken media critic, Berman has been a rabble-rousing community organizer whose efforts have included countless interviews with traditional radio, TV and print media, as well many published letters and op-eds. He is a frequent public speaker and has been a guest on many programs including those hosted by Thom Hartmann and Peter B. Collins. Berman has been called "the conscience of our electoral process" by Arcata Eye editor Kevin Hoover, and "a provocative speaker whose ideas have had major influence shaping the election integrity message" by Election Defense Alliance co-founder Dan Ashby.

Dave Berman earned a B.S. in Communication from Cornell University and spent 10 years as a radio DJ. He is also a successful entrepreneur.
