Wednesday, September 26, 2007 John Lombardi: Bad Day at Blackwater (1 comments)
The added obscenity about Blackwater few ever mention (why, I wonder?) is that it got its first federal contract in 2000 under the Clinton Administration. See Jeremy Scahill's book talk on YouTube "Blackwater Invades Illinois" 2 min. into the video, blink and you'll miss it! Why did Clinton give them their first federal contract? And why is that such a little-known fact? Time to check Blackwater's 08 donations!
Monday, July 30, 2007 Obama: Keep America safe by maintaining ideals (1 comments)
Local write-up from Des Moines, Iowa. Obama is cheered for his stand on negotiations with adversaries without preconditions. He's also bolstered by support of former Iowa House Democratic Leader Dick Myers of Iowa City, an Army veteran. Obama has found his commander-in-chief voice on this issue. He still maintains his characteristic empathetic tone, assuring the audience that America's safety will be his primary concern daily.
Wednesday, June 27, 2007 Lynn Sweet: Sweet blog special: Clinton, Obama and controversial fund-raiser with ties to Rezko. Giving back controversi
Three article compare how Hillary Clinton and Obama have each handled donations from an attorney involved in a public-corruption indictment. Attorney bundled over $130,000 for Hillary, which she's kept. He donated $500 to Obama, which he returned. Obama also returned over $37,000 in donations from Rezko and his associates. Obama also opposes "bundling" of campaign contributions. Clinton relies on bundling.
Wednesday, June 20, 2007 Barack Obama Takes Over the Take Back America Conference | Democrats.com
Obama rocked the house in the Take Back America Conference, but you'd hardly know it by this tepid report by former Kucinich Communications Director, David Swanson. Why not let the "Aggressive Progressives" know why you support Obama? Watch the video on Google videos called "Sen. Barack Obama - Take Back America" June 19, 2007, then please respond to this article. Obama 08!
Wednesday, June 20, 2007 The Backstory on Obama-Clinton Attack Memos - The Caucus - Politics - New York Times Blog
Back story on Memos circulated by Clinton to "prove" Obama engages in "dirty" politics. Conclusions: Nothing "dirty" in research of opponents and trying to get media coverage of findings. Clinton was given the internal memos from Obama's campaign by "someone" and a PAC for India called USIPAC plus fundraisers from/for India, both of which raised millions for Hillary, cried "racism". Hillary and PAC use NYT to air their claims.
Wednesday, June 20, 2007 Mental care for vets may get bigger budget
Barack Obama has been trying to increase mental health funding for vets for a long time, and it's finally coming up for a vote. Bush, naturally, is threatening to cut funds elsewhere if the bipartisan bill passes with $6.5 billion more funding than Bush wants to give. You know what to do!
Friday, June 15, 2007 Financial Reports for Presidential Candidates, Congressional Leadership - washingtonpost.com
Graphic comparing some of the presidential candidates and congressional leaders. Obama's financial assets have only approached $1mil with $1/2 million from writing books about America's greatness and his dramatic personal journey. Hillary's assets are worth between $10-51 million, and has recently been paid over $10 million for "speaking engagements". One imagines this does not include Bill's assets. The Post has more details!
Friday, June 15, 2007 Independent - June 14, 2007: Navajos to invite Obama Giuliani; Shiprock wants pols to visit reservation
Navajos of Shiprock, New Mexico prefer Obama over their own Gov. Richardson. Hopefully Obama will be the choice for most of the Native peoples. Regardless, the presidential candidates need to learn from and speak to Native Americans, and we need to hear how they plan to include Native American issues in their policies.
