Cats, not windmills, bigger threat to birds
Nation'l Academy of Sciences reports that birds are in greater danger from cats, high buildings, power lines than high-power swirling blades of wind generators. The article, however, stresses that "scientists' biggest concern was reserved for bats." Problem is though-"when researchers sought dead bats around wind machines, bat corpses may have been missed or already absconded by predators."

Military investigators detail case against jailer in Iraq

The suspected cellphone misuse led to a charge of "aiding the enemy," potentially a capital offense. But testimony by investigators at the hearing Tuesday suggested that the cellphone issue was a sign of Steele's lenient approach to detention."
