Prior to 2007, he has never been politically involved. In fact, in prior years, when asked anything concerning politics, he often responded with a simple (in his own words) "quack, quack, quack" (accompanied by the 'duck flapping his beak' hand gesture). He feels he can no longer stay silent and that his ability to 'put words together', as a songwriter, may enable him to write convincing commentary. I believe he has successfully made the transition....
