Penecostals had their hands on me from an early age, Republicanism seeped into my brain in high school, and education saved me, particularly, Jefferson's University and my excellent public high school teachers before that. Now I live on a cat farm outside of Charlottesville and work as an editor. I have always been very concerned about the environment, say, from middle school on. I was nonpolitical until I learned that Mark Rey, head of the timber industry lobby, was Bush's head of Dept. of Forestry (or whatever the name was of the henhouse that this fox headed). That was so damned transparent that it drove me nuts and drove me to begin speaking out to everyone I know. My family and I have mostly parted ways since my awakening. It feels good. I'm lucky to have an awesome wife who awoke with me. Peace
