Poll: how should we balance concern for human and non-human animals?
Both human and non-human animals face suffering, cruelty, and deprivation. Since there are finite resources available for giving aid, how should we balance the needs of human and non-human animals? An extreme speciesist would say that the welfare of humans should always take precedent. An extreme animal rights activist might say that every non-human animal (including rats and insects) is as precious as every human.

Poll: How's the mix of stories on OpEdNews? Is it over-edited? Under-edited?
Blogs push the envelope of the news, giving voice to alternative and down-trodden viewpoints. Blogs thereby serve a useful function. The trick is to find a good balance between mainstream and alternative. Too much editing is as bad as too little editing. How does OpEdNews stand in this regard?

Poll: Is romantic love mostly lust and neediness?
Sometimes it's hard not to be cynical about romantic love. The fickleness and unfaithfulness of the human heart are common knowledge. Knowing the biological bases for relationships, one has to wonder whether love isn't mostly a fiction. Or maybe that's just cynical nonsense. What do you think?

Poll: Are the Democrats as bad as the Republicans?
A perennial divide on the Left is between those progressives who support the Democratic Party (they work from within to push it leftwards) and those more leftist progressives who say "You can't trust the Dems. They're as bad as the Repukes. We must stop choosing the lesser of two evils." The more leftist progressives typically supported Nader in 2000.
I want to understand how divided OpEdNews readers are on this issue.
