I am a 61-year-old, always single, mother of 2 adult daughters, activist, living out in the boonies, working as a home-based medical transcriptionist. Having a pacifist/Quaker background since 1647 in the US, I am a pacifism, and living simply so others can simply live is my approached to life. Right now I have a truck garden and 12 chickens, along with some rescued dogs and cats. I promote living life from scratch and having the least contact with corporate America possible. I have 5 years of university units in nutrition/biology/anthropology and read mostly nonfiction, but no degrees as my oldest daughter (for about 12 years) was hospitalized 2-3 time a week with her diabetes (since age 3/4.) I live in the Campo/Boulevard area in the mountains outside San Diego, CA, close by and in support of my 86-year-old mother, Ruth MacGill, who is sharp as a tack and writes on Gather, and is a local historian, very involved with the Campo museums (Buffalo Soldiers/Old Stone Store Museum, Railroad Museum and somewhat with the Truck Museum.)
