Back in the saddle again.
In accordance with the new guidelines, I've dumped my infant pseudonym and have resumed the annoying name (to some members) of Tom Murphy.
I have some catching up to do on the articles but look forward to playing again with Truthers, progressives, and those terrified by the pending Democratic losses to be witnessed in just a few days. Oh, I know we'll have the wonders of the World's Demise in 2012 to discuss also, presuming the date was calculated correctly.
These are exciting times where America is about to turn the page on a social disaster of epic proportions. Come January 2011, we'll be able to say we gave hope and change the "old college try" but it turned out to be nothing more than a sweetly-wrapped lie. Now, we have to work on bringing the political pendulum to the center because the extremes sure as heck haven't worked!
Honesty is the best policy when posting because as Lincoln once postualted:
"How many legs does a dog have if you call the tail a leg? Four. Calling a tail a leg doesn't make it a leg."
See you folks in the trenches. Remember that an argument is a spirited debate. And what debater wants bobble heads that nod consistently in agreement when they can have a true exchange of ideas with the opposition? "Taste death; live life."
Monday, May 18, 2009 Cheney Democrats (23 comments)
An increasing number of Democrats are seeing the "wisdom" of the Bush Administration's approach to the war on terror. In fact, they're parroting the position of then Vice President Cheney. Behold, now, the Cheney Democrat!
Monday, April 20, 2009 If something is unreal, make it real! (3 comments)
The hit comedy team of "Garofalo and Olbermann" are at it again with their crazy banter! Turning tea parties into the "teabag suckers" (yuck, yuck) and charming us with the suggested tea party sequel of "Franks and Beans". What creative wit!
Tuesday, January 20, 2009 Act 1, Scene 1 - Line Flub 1 (11 comments)
In a carefully-scripted play such as the one we've witnessed to date with the Obama transition team, when a line flub happens, it's usually good!
Monday, November 24, 2008 Paranoid Conspiracy Theories (PCTs) (61 comments)
A recent diary entry by John Get a Clue had me thinking (yet again) on what compells an apparently sane individual to adopt the conclusions of a paranoid conspiracy theory as being... "the Truth". And while the reasons for believing such theories haven't really changed, the personal attacks against the challengers most certainly have, as witnessed by the comments here at OEN. The Truth, it seems, must be revealed no matter the cost... or its perception!
Wednesday, November 5, 2008 But... What Happened to the False Flag Operation?!? (27 comments)
Tuesday, November 4th came and Senator Obama is now President-elect Obama. Ah, wait! There's something wrong here! Where was the massive voting machine manipulation, false flag operation, and violence of the Religious Right?!? How was Obama elected President given that America is occupied largely by sheeple???
Friday, October 17, 2008 Progressive Use of Cease & Desist Letters (6 comments)
While this is somewhat ironic for a web site that promotes progressive values, I have received a Cease & Desist Letter from another OEN member to stop commenting on his words posted here and elsewhere on the Internet (although I have only commented on his words here).
Monday, October 6, 2008 Knocka, Knocka - Where are you Cynthia? (1 comments)
In an open letter to The Honorable Cynthia McKinney, a potential presidential voter requests additional information - NOW as opposed to later (e.g., after election day)!
Wednesday, April 2, 2008 Truther Reasoning "Explained" (44 comments)
What does a Truther's thought process and a Rubik's Cube have in common? Actually, a lot more than you might think! We'll see how a Truther thinks not just "outside the box" (bad pun, I know), but they actually rearrange the box!
Tuesday, March 18, 2008 The Open-ended 9/11 Questions: Part 3 of 3 (21 comments)
Finally! We reach the climactic end of our series. However and like the last two, the Truther question asked here is a dud. An explanation exists for this question that's more reasonable and likely than one that calls for creating a conspiracy.
Friday, March 14, 2008 The Open-ended 9/11 Questions: Part 1 of 3 (51 comments)
Did you ever feel like you've lived your own "Groundhog Day" movie? Have you felt as though you've played Bill Murray's character as he addressed the same set of questions and problems - day after day - until he either got it right or... finally believed?
Saturday, February 16, 2008 Responses to Three 9/11-related Questions (57 comments)
If you suspect your neighbor of placing leaves in your yard come fall, then is it logical to presume he's the cause of the leaves' falling come every Autumn? If you answer "yes", then these questions are for you.

Which do you prefer in revealing a (mostly) scientific truth - sound reasoning and objectivity or a blind faith in an unproven allegation?
