I have a longstanding interest in elections and their consequences and reform of election systems and processes. In the late 80's, early 90's, I helped lead the successful campaign to adopt a proportional voting system for electing the members of the New Zealand Parliament. Today, I am active in the Canada promoting the adoption of proportional voting systems. My current project is supporting the campaign for the adoption of the Mixed-Member Proportional (MMP) voting system in the province of Ontario at a referendum to be held on October 10th, 2007.
