Writing is both craft and art. Perhaps the toughest writing is that of the OpEd Piece. The writer wants to convince his reader that what he says is important, and correct. Easy to do when, "Preaching to the choir." Instead, you are seeking to change the thinking of those opposed to your views, that's something else, entirely. You have two chances to change the opinion of opponents Slim and None! If you can't get the basics correct in every respect, then, don't waste your time. Mistakes give your opponents a reason to dismiss you as being ignorant, sloppy, or lacking commitment to your work.
