Rafe Pilgrim, after "a life largely wasted on hard honest work," found himself a jungle of turkey oak, scrub pine and giant palmettos up a dirt road running east of Crystal River, Florida, which neither school busses nor the U.S. Postal Service dare to assay. Sharing a house of his own design with Spanky the cat, Darla a pit bull, and a foundling of mysterious breed named Alfalfa -- all collectively known as Our Gang -- he spends his time "productively: writing poetry, working for peace, and gazing at the sky."

Tweedledee or Tweedledum -- Who's to Win in 2012?
With evidence of growing discontent among liberals, does the incumbent President have a lock on re-election? Could a Republican win the day? And would either outcome make much difference for the people?

The We're-the-Best Syndrome, an American Affliction
Too many Americans are afflicted with the compulsion to proclaim "we're the best" at practically everything, which is not only stupid and annoying, but simply wrong and counterproductive to the best interests of our citizenry.

Celebrating the Birthday of a Dying Republic
(2 comments) Is it not bizarre -- on July Fourth -- that in celebrating the birth of America so few realize that the republic has been actually dying incrementally for the past thirty years?

The Conditions-Based Integrity of the Obama Government
Atop the farce of command change in Afghanistan, we get the "conditions-based commitment" for troop withdrawal, whatever in the treacherous employment of polit-speak that portends.

Love America or Leave It? An Interesting Proposition.
Most Americans appear to be still unaware that their government does not perform to their best interests nor to humanity's, and the few who are aware seem unwilling to do anything sufficient to actually change the situation.

Who Actually Controls America and Our Fate?
(1 comments) More ominously with each passing day, it appears that the three branches of "our" government do not pursue the best interests of the electorate but rather are directed and apparently rewarded from elsewhere. But, to quote Butch Cassidy: "Who are those guys?" And where are they leading us?

The Treachery of "Winning"
We have been told for nine years that more slaughter is the "cost of winning," but what exactly are we to win and when?

Team Obama Wins, We Lose, Again
Obama and his Dems got their "victory" with the new medical care bill. This question remains: What did the citizens get and how much will they actually pay out for it.

Yet Another Mouse Fart in a Hurricane
With all due respect to the mice of the world, endeavors such as the one this past Saturday have zero impact on the resolve of our masters for endless war, their lust for power and enrichment, and their subjugation of "good Americans" to serfdom.

Ever Morphing Bi-Partisan Treachery? Revolution? Or Decent Government?
Grasp this reality: The choice of increased government treachery, revolution, or decent government WILL be made. We must come to our senses and make it a choice for the people.

Meaningful Civil Protest? Revolution? Or Total Domination and Obeisance?

Slaughtering Children Requires Budgetary Disciplines
It costs us $2000 in compensation for each Afghani child we slaughter. This is a situation that cries out for the appropriate financial controls.

Greetings Fellow Serfs !
The corruption of our economy with the complicity of our government has gone far enough. It is high time for the citizens to take direct action to confront this abuse and to restore some decency in our governance and some hope for our children's future.

Fascism Without Swastikas
Only the formal albeit superficial guises of a republic obscure the reality that our government no longer represents the best interests of the citizens. Some would have it that fascism is now the de facto force of our governance.

Different Suit, Same Substance: George W. Obama
An Alonzo Hardy, apparently representing (?) Unite Ocala (Florida) exhorts us to continue to support President Obama, that "the best is yet to come," that "He's resolved a whole lot of ... challenges despite the birthers, the teabaggers, the party of 'no,' and even some of the unreasonable demands of some of our Progressive friends."

Peace and Decent Governance are Not Gifts from God
There is a tendency among good people to expect peace and decent governance as their due, and that we deserve such simply because of the compelling virtue of these qualities. History tells us, however, that such is not the case, and that violence and force are the prevalent order of man's story, and will dominate our lives unless actively and courageously resisted.

The Democrat Majority and then...Fascism, or a Decent Option?
By penalty of law we are forced to pay into our government for the War of Lies. By penalty of law we are forced to pay the salaries and perks (including handsome medical benefits) of our congress folk and president, whether or not they serve our best interests. And now the Democrat-majority government would have us -- again under penalty of law -- pay private insurance interests directly for a sham of a national healthcare program.

Bailout the Homeless, Not the Banksters

The Protest Planned for March and the Status of America

The Death of Activism
The Messiah is on the presidential throne, the war continues, the venality undiminished in Congress, but the streets are quieter. What else has changed? Get ready, my friends, to howl, but suck it up to admit that activism has died.

Advice to a Democrat Apparatchik: It's Time to Actually Serve the People
We voted for a Democrat majority of both houses of Congress in 2006, and for a Democrat President in 2008, upon the proposition that the malfeasance of the Bush administration would be addressed and corrected -- yet the War of Lies persists and very little else of substance has been corrected.

The Dark Import of a U.S. Destroyer in the Black Sea
An American destroyer is in the Black Sea to engage in exercises with Georgian ships, while not far away Russian warplanes are conducting their own war games, a situation rife with potential for mistakes or mischief, even of the stuff that can start real wars.

The Audacity of Duplicity
(1 comments) Candidate Obama promised "Change" and offered "Hope." Now President Obama gives us more war and too little beyond nuance in domestic issues. We are disappointed, many say betrayed. We need to so advise him.

The "Delicacy" Posed Americans by the Israel-Palestine Conflict
Israel and its sponsor, the United States, employ slaughter in pursuit of their objectives in the Middle East. It is time for Americans to decide if this is to be permitted or to demand that humanity will prevail.

How to SUPPORT-OUR-TROOPS
The extremely difficult thing to do under America's wretched circumstances today is to muster the integrity to accept the truth, and then if we're really good, intelligent and courageous people to deal with it beyond errant popular sentiment and sloganeering.

The Trillion Dollar Bailout and its Bipartisan Handmaidens
Much of the treachery of the Bush administration can be attributed to poisonous partisanship. In their fervor to rid the people's house of this contagion in a new government, the Democrats would do well to guard against a similar affliction.

Serious Shortage of Real Political Champions
Senator Paul Wellstone was one of few who clearly and loudly spoke against empowering George Bush to attack Iraq. Where are such champions of political integrity and peace among our partisan choices today?

Powell's a Tarnished Endorsement
