Stop DOW Chemical In India -- Send a free fax!
US chemical multinational Dow Chemical, owner of Union Carbide, truly thinks that it is above the law. That, in India it can poison entire communities, causing sickness, cancers, deaths and birth-defects: that it can lie, cheat, bribe and buy off officials and twist politicians round its little finger; that it can terrorize ordinary citizens by calling on its friends in power to visit their homes with brutality.

Co-Opting the Left
(13 comments) As the late Walter Karp explained it in his classic book, "Indispensable Enemies," the job of the Republican Party is to represent the far right and the job of the Democratic Party is to co-opt the left so that there can't be any effective opposition to the far right.

Despair
(16 comments) Like many others, most notably the JFK assassination researchers and the 9/11 Truthers, I've been clinging to hope that if people only realized the truth, things could change. So I've been going around trying to spread the truth as I see it. And I've learned some hard truths myself. It isn't that people don't know, it is that they know and they don't care.

The New American Declaration of Independence
The D of I, in a typical example of the road to hell being paved with good intentions, led to our present fascist state, but citizen ownership of transparent participatory democracy would ensure our inalienable rights as set out in the D of I.

We Don't Buy It!
(7 comments) Whichever way the elections go, we will not see an end to torture as U.S. policy. Since Bush claims that he needs the right to be able to torture suspected terrorists, it has become a bipartisan issue. Neither the Republicans nor the Democrats can effectively oppose it.

An Open Letter to Senator John Kerry
In 2004, Senator Kerry asked us for money so that he could ensure that our votes were counted. Although he gave some of it to the Democratic Party and to Democratic candidates, he never did get our votes counted and much of that money is still sitting in his war chest.
