Standing on a street corner on Crystal Drive in Washington DC, I simply recorded, for five minutes or so, the marchers walking by, and we were nowhere near the end when I turned the camera off. You will see the great diversity of participants passing. I estimated there were eight thousand people at the march, organizers said 10,000, the cops a lot less, which they always say. I think I am closer to the final number, but it could have been 10,000.

The Israeli Propaganda Ministry, or whatever you want to call it officially, is frantically trying to twist our minds into believing that they are engaged in some sort of Ragnarok against elemental evil, with the Fafnir Dragon at their last barricade. Thus they demonize Hamas and even its civil servants and police officers as terrorists, bequeathing an instant death penalty against them while slaughtering Gazans from the sky with drones and F-16s, rationalizing the vast destruction against civilians and civilian infrastructure as collateral damage or "getting what they deserve for voting for Hamas." But even in Israel thousands and thousands of Israelis have seen through this blatant propaganda, as they took to the streets of Tel Aviv last Saturday, Jan 3rd, to denounce the war on Gaza.

Only a higher identity, a belief in the brotherhood and sisterhood of humankind, can end this madness.

There had only been one negative reaction when I left, and several hundred horn honks in support, so if you want to call that an unofficial "honking" poll, there is considerable support for an end to the assault on Gaza here in Hampton Roads.
