I am a retired science teacher who has a passion for protecting our environment and for politics. Like the candidate I supported for president, John Edwards, I see how everything is connected--our foreign policy is connected to our environmental policy, which is connected to our economic policies, etc.

Like John Edwards, I feel that corporate America has a stranglehold on our democracy, and that we need to get rid of the lobbyists in Washington and restore our government to the people. I believe that my party, the Democratic Party, needs to get, as Edwards said, "a little backbone" and stand up for the progressive principles that we once stood for. I belong to National One Corps, a group of dedicated Edwards Democrats, who are pursuing John Edwards' vision of standing up for working class and poor families, getting rid of the lobbyists in Washington, universal health care, ending the war in Iraq, halting global warming, and restoring the promise of America to every man, woman and child in America.

The corporate media, which uses our public airwaves, has far too much power these days, and is virtually in the role of choosing our presidential candidates...Our elections have also become auctions...For these reasons, media reform and campaign finance reform are two of my biggest priorities as I work with National One Corps members and other interested voters across our country to level the playing field for all candidates and empower Amreican voters.
