I am a U.S. citizen and a Vietnam era U.S. veteran. My profession was software engineering. I am now fully retired. As an educated American of Ukrainian descent I try to keep informed about current events in Ukraine. Politically speaking, I am open minded but much more conservative than liberal. For a number of years before Ukraine became independent and immediately afterwards I was the president of the Phoenix, Arizona branch of the Ukrainian Congress Committee of America. When I see someone present what I believe to be badly misleading or strongly biased information about the UCCA or Ukraine I feel somewhat obligated to respectfully point this out in a public forum.
