A Culture of Death and Destruction

Some people have likened the Earth to a relatively small lifeboat wheeling in an incredibly vast sea of outer space. If they also think that the sinking of the Titanic was a sad disaster, they will be heartbroken over the tragic devastation when this sort of occurrence happens on a planetary scale.

Coming To Terms With The Iraq War
Is the Iraqi populous supposed to be grateful to our troops for liberating them from any future potential destruction by Saddam Hussein? How could he have been worse than being invaded by foreign "liberators," who destroyed their jobs, schools, homes, streets, way of life and so much more? Unfortunately, the lives of Iraqis are irrelevant to some people. Indeed, civilians and truth are always the first casualties of war.

Economic, political and other influences shape customs and resultant behaviors in every society. How can we best resist their effects when they are clearly detrimental ones? How can we bring about constructive changes while having these negative impacts present in our lives? 'On Rejecting "The System"' attempts to partially answer these questions and point out some problems that exist when social systems are dysfunctional.
