Retired from teaching, I still work to improve school food, which is missing the long chain omega-3s DHA and EPA essential for immunity and sanity. Without them, and 85% of our nation has sub-optimal levels.

Have we hit bottom yet? With a fifth of our GDP going to medical care (despite the lack of actual cures), is it finally time to look around for a better approach to health? An approach that worked for millenia in most communities around the world, although of course the various cuisines were unique to their locale?

In short, one answer to being swamped in stupid voters is to make them smarter. Other orphan nutrients are vitamin D and iodine, also very low in Americans, with ever sinking levels in our population that public health is ignoring.

Getting rid of sugar is a good start, but that won't improve thinking and boost empathy in this nation until the missing nutrients are returned. Visit WestonAPrice.org for more info.
