Born New York City 1953. Active in radical politics as a High School student at Stuyvesant, but dropped out to engage in revolution that fizzled. Got caught up in the draft, did a hitch in the Army in Korea, got out at Ft. Lewis, WA. Took a temporary job in a Naval Shipyard that lasted 31 years. Journeyman Marine Machinery Mechanic, 30 years in the IAM&AW and all I got was the stupid lapel pin. Three days after retiring at age 55, I joined the IWW. Married, one son, three grandchildren. Keenly interested in independent labor unions, Anarcho-Syndicalism, history and political economy, classical music and jazz, voracious reader and autodidact. For relaxation, I canoe local lakes and take pictures instead of fishing, baffling my fellow boaters. I still live in the Pacific Northwest, and am grateful for it.
