I am a volunteer animal rescuer and passionate advocate for animal rights. I actively campaign for shelter reform, stronger penalties for animal abusers, free or low cost Spay/Neuter programs, and pet adoption. I also volunteer for a wildlife rehabilitation center in my community as a public relations and marketing advisor. I am member of Alley Cat Allies, No Kill Nation, Best Friends Animal Society, the ASPCA and HSUS. I work with an extensive network of animal rescuers to rescue and rehome pets that are on 'death row' in high-kill shelters all over the country. When I am not on the computer, I rescue and raise feral cats and kittens. I specialize in 'bottle babies': those animals that have been orphaned or abandoned at such a young age that they require round-the-clock care to survive. I have raised dozens of kittens; some as young as just hours old. I consider myself very lucky to be able to do this work. It brings my such joy to know that an animal that I rescued from certain death has become someone's beloved pet. It is the ultimate reward - more gratifying than any pay raise or promotion; more than any award or plaque. I do what I do - not for money, or for recognition. I do it for my soul. I believe that we are responsible for the care of our planet and everything that exists here on Earth.
