Growing up in a working class family (and this, to me, is not a pejorative!), I can mark my transition into inchoate adulthood at the point when listening to the grown-ups talk "politics" in the kitchen became more exciting than scrambling with the kids on the playground. Much later my family came to discover: The "alternative press" - The Nation, The Progressive – Saul Alinsky, I. F. Stone, Noam Chomsky, Howard Zinn, et al. And then the 60's happened. We discovered that there were (hopefully) millions of other people like us who believed in justice, equality, human rights, grassroots democracy, pluralism. And now, despairing, feeling myself suffocating living in these Fascist States of America, I eagerly, hungrily search for blogs, web sites - anything on the internet - that speaks to truth. And I found this one.
