Born 1932, Meriden, CT, 3/4 Irish ancestry.
1937 to 1950 Meriden public schools
1954 graduated from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, B.S. ChE
1954 to 1969, worked at Monsanto nylon yarn plant and research center in Pensacola, FL. 1969 to 1971 was a new product development manager for Monsanto at the Research Triangle Park, NC. Worked on Cerex spunbond fabric, aramid fibers (like Kevlar), AstroTurf and AstroTurf doormats and melt spun metal fibers. Managed a 50-person R & D group.

September 1971 started (with my wife) Hills R & D, Inc (now called Hills, Inc) in Melbourne, FL. Hills, Inc. Offers technology and machinery to make synthetic textile fibers, especially bicomponent fibers.

January 1988 sold the controlling interest in Hills, Inc and retired, but I still offer some advice to our company.

Obtained 42 U.S. patents, about half assigned to Monsanto and the rest to Hills, Inc. or Hills customers.
