I work for a conservation NGO in Florida. I am currently looking for another job in a Blue State because I am so tired of swimming against the tide here, not just in my career challenges but also the social climate. The south is just too south for me. I am a proud liberal in every sense of the word - I do not feel the need to disguise my liberal-ness by using euphemisms like "progressive." Its not a bad word, as euphemisms go, its just that I don't wish to be reinvented. So, I'm a strong activist for liberal causes, particularly those with an environmental slant, like climate change and endangered species protection, but I can also get fired up about hunger, health care and equal rights issues.
