Years ago, I spent 4 yrs in the US Navy. I had a variety of jobs after the service. I did a dumb thing that left me disabled. My wife went back to school and thanks to her we are doing ok. I do not pretend to have all the answers nor to being an eloquent writer. I have always been the quiet type. Honestly; I find it hard to sift through and come up with enough factual knowledge to give sincere; helpful answers. I do listen fairly well. I can remember when at age 17, I was getting ready to go in the service and I wanted to buy a Dodge Cuda 440. I'm pretty sure the cost was $2,860. I was not able to get the car my dad says I probably would have got killed in "that hot rod". Today a car (similar style) runs around 30 grand. I've got to mention that if I had bought the car back then and stored it, today it would go for well over a hundred grand.
I started to try and get a grasp on politics and the goings on around me when Ross Perot was doing his bid for the presidency. I felt our political arena had managed to create a greedy quagmire gridlock mess. I thought Ross, a businessman and seemingly a no bull taking guy could get the Gov under some control. "Yea seen that dream before".
I want to believe the climate is "something happening". My family comes from Maine and they see firsthand "something"!
When it comes to voting I have no idea; because I do not have enough dedication to sift through mountains of paperwork I cannot understand. Top that with the twisted words and negative ads that seem to flood the airwaves. It's no wonder we are in such a mess.
I am focusing my attention as one behind Boone Pickens whom I want to believe is truly concerned with our energy future. I want my grandkids to have a stable/quality of life while ensuring we have a planet to inhabit.
