Marianne Hoynes is a second generation social activist, a health care lobbyist on Capitol Hill on behalf of patients and doctors, and an independent journalist and fine artist. As a small child, Marianne followed in her Quaker pacifist tradition, marching in various actions like protests to end the Vietnam War, to free Daniel Berrigan and the Continental Walk to End Nuclear Disarmament. She grew up feeding the poor with her family in the FISH organization in Central NJ. Marianne was educated in Italy and in the US, and has lived in London, Florence, Urbino and in Jamaica. She has written on many topics including Veterans for Peace, Occupy Wall Street, NDAA, Political prisoners like Jeremy Hammond and Chelsea Manning, and Icelandic politics.
